Died: 13th November 1858 at Kurrajong Heights, N.S.W.
Buried: 15th November 1858 at St Peter's Church of England, Richmond.

Prior to the Macquarie era the following child was born to Ann and
John Innis/Ennis/Ennes:-
John Lane born 30th September 1809.

During the Macquarie era the following children were born to Ann and John Sherwood:-
Joseph born 7th July 1812.
Mary born 18th January 1813.
Sarah born c1816
Hannah born 18th January 1818.
Ann born 3rd August 1820.

After the Macquarie era the following children were born to Ann and John Sherwood:-

Thomas born 26th December 1824.
James born c1826.

Ann Lane was born in Bristol Gloucestershire in 1788. She arrived on the 16th November 1808 on the convict ship "Speke" sentenced to seven years transportation having been convicted for stealing clothes. Her relationship with John Innes produced her son John Lane born on 30th September 1809 and baptised at St.Philips Church, Sydney.

He lived with his mother for his first ten years, however on 1st January 1819 he was received into the Male Orphan School where he remained until 1827. John Lane married Hannah Hawkins in 1836, daughter of David Hawkins and their son John was born at Kurrajong and baptised in Richmond on 6th May 1838. They had a total of 7 children.

In the 1814 Muster Ann is listed at the wife of John Sherwood and with three children and living at Richmond. The 1828 Census shows them with eight children, including her son John Lane. John Sherwood died in 1850 and buried at St.Peters Richmond and Ann lived another eight years and became a well-known identity in the Kurrajong area. She died on 13 November 1858.
