During the Macquarie era Edward Ewer was tried at Berks Assizes on 28 February 1820 & received a life sentence, He was of Windsor, Gardener, Baker & Servant, a26 – Allowed free pardon…31 Jany 1842***
On 29 January 1822 he was returned to Govt after being assigned to Richard Hill###

After the Macquarie era in August 1823 & March 1824 Edward was assigned & in 1825 he sent a Petition for mitigation of his sentence###

They were the parents of Edward jnr, Harriet, Emma, Frances, Cordelia, Hannah, Thomas, William, Joseph & John between 1827 & 1848. From the baptism indexes they appear to have moved from Parramatta to Bathurst after the birth of Hannah
