Eleanor McDonald

Born: c1769 in Dublin, Ireland.

Arrived : 26th September 1791.
Vessel: Queen.
Status: Convict, sentenced on the 27th October 1790 at the Quarter Sessions, Dublin.
Co-habited: Jonathan Griffiths.
Died: cFebruary 1831 at Richmond, N.S.W.
Buried: 1st March 1831 in the Griffith's vault in St Peter's cemetery, Richmond.

Prior to the Macquarie era the following children were born to Jonathan and Eleanor:-
Thomas born c1797.
Sarah born c1799.
John born c1801.
William born c1803.
Elizabeth born c1804.
Mary born c1804.
Ann born c1806.
James born c1808.


During the Macquarie era the following child were born to Jonathan and Eleanor:-
Henry born c 1812.

Profile:
After arriving in Sydney, Eleanor was sent to Norfolk Island, arriving there on the 23rd April 1792 where she meet Jonathan Griffiths. When she returned to Sydney, she moved to South Creek to be with Jonathan Griffiths and she had nine children to him between 1797 and 1812.

Eleanor supported Jonathan in many of his civic duties and when he moved to Van Diemens Land she spent long periods alone in their homestead at Launceston, before returning to Richmond, where she died.
