Before the Macquarie era, Francis arrived in the Colony as a sergeant in the 102nd Regiment & 8th Royal Veterans’ Battalion.
During the Macquarie era, in 1810, Francis married Elizabeth Arnett at St Phillip’s Church of England, Sydney - V1810 1017 3A, V1810 115 5 & V1810 11 5
He left the Colony after 1813 & returned in 1817, with his wife Mary & 3 children.
After the Macquarie era they had a son:
Francis jnr, son of Francis Abell (no mother named) baptised in c1822 at Windsor, N.S.W.
Francis is listed in the 1822 and 1823,24,25 Musters as a Pensioner living at Windsor with his wife, Mary and their children Elizabeth, Sarah & George and Francis.
In the1828 Census, Francis is listed as 59 years of age living with his 51 year old unnamed wife, and a 7 year old child, Protestant, arrived on the Canada in 1817, and a servant to Barwise & Co, Merchants, Wallis Plains, N.S.W.
Francis Able died 1852 and his death is registered at the Church of England, Camperdown, Newtown N.S.W.
