Before the Macquarie era George was tried at the Assizes for County of Kent at Maidstone on 15 March 1790 & received a Life sentence – William & Ann***

On 30 December & 9 August 1803 George was on lists of all grants & leases registered in the Col Sec’s Office. About 1805 he was on a list of settlers, formerly prisoner, nominated as a witness. On 6 July 1807 he was on a statement of capital advanced by Gregory Blaxland###

On 11 September 1810 George applied for a man off stores. In October 1811 he was a signatory as a juror at a coroner’s inquest. On 17 August 1816 he was on a list of persons who had received horned cattle from the Government Herds. George sent a memorial on 1 June 1820. He sought a passport to travel through the Cow Pastures in March 1821. On 8 August 1821 he conveyed thanks to Charles Throsby for past favours.###

After the Macquarie era, on 22 & 23 February 1822 George applied for a clearing gang. Between March & July 1822 he received assigned convicts. From 23 September to 21 October 1822 Thomas Davis was tried by the Court of Criminal Jurisdiction for robbing Best. On 14 June 1823 George was on a list of applicants for clearing gangs; for his 100 acre estate at Toongabbie. On 14 September 1823 he certified to the character of Christopher Limebear Bridges, schoolmaster at Seven Hills. He sent memorials on 19 April & 14 September 1824. On 14 April 1825 he was to be allowed an additional grant of 40 acres & was on a list of persons who have received orders for grants of land###
