Profile:
?During the Macquarie era John came free on the Hibernia in 1810. He was a missionary from Otaheite & on 22 February 1810 he was granted permission to become a settler. On 24 February 1810 he & his family were authorized to be victualled at Newcastle. On 27 February 1810 it was recommended that he be appointed schoolmaster at Newcastle & be allowed to perform Divine Service there. In March 1810 he was appointed to take charge of the Charity School at Parramatta. Between 5 August 1812 & 16 December 1817 John was foreman of the jury at 4 inquests held at Parramatta. In July 1820 he was on a list of persons in the procession to be held to mark the accession of George IV. There are many more references relating to his work, a land grant & assigned servants up to 5 December 1825###
