During the Macquarie era, on 30 June 1814 Joseph is ‘of Baulkham Hills’ – on a list of person to receive grants of land in 1814. On 4 December 1819 he is ‘of East Creek’ recommended Barnabus McClusky for a Ticket of Leave. On 1 June 1820 he is ‘of Breakfast Cree’ when he sent a memorial. On 10 August 1820 he countersigned a printed copy of Proclamation on the accession of King George 1V###

He had a convict assigned to him in January 1825 & another in February. On 4 May 1825 he was on a list of warrants for land purchases. On 3 August 1825 there was correspondence re temporary occupation of land for use as a grazing run###
