Before the Macquarie era Richard, a tanner, came free on the Glatton in 1803###
During the Macquarie era, in June 1814 Richard was on a list of
settlers to receive Government cattle on credit. On 1 January 1816
& 29 October 1819 he was a juror at 2 inquests held at Parramatta.
In February 1819 he was paid from the Police Fund for hair for
Government use at Parramatta & for leather supplied to the Factory
at Parramatta. On 30 April he was on a return of persons indebted to
the Government for cattle issued from the Government herds; to be paid
for in kind. On 21 July 1820 Richard was a juror at an inquest held at
Field of Mars. In August 1820 he countersigned a printed copy of a
Proclamation on the accession of King George IV. In January 1822 (&
January 1823) he was listed on a Colonial Fund statement.###
After the Macquarie era on 18 July 1822 Richard was a signatory to a
memorial from the inhabitants & stockholders of Parramatta re
common land on the Sydney road known as Dog Traps. On 5 April 1823 he
was on a return of allotments in the town of Parramatta. In March 1825
he sold 2 pack saddles to Alan Cunningham. In October & November
1825 he was on lists of jurors liable to serve in Parramatta or
Liverpool###
