Before the Macquarie era Richard was tried at Bristol Q S on October 1803 & received a sentence of 7 years***

In February 1809 Richard sent produce to the Hawkesbury Stores.###

During the Macquarie era, in February 1811 he bought goods at auction from a deceased estate. In June he sent a doctor’s certificate to explain his failure to take delivery of cows which were promised to him. On 16 January 1816 Richard was on a list to receive a land grant that year.###

In December 1822 Richard was a District Constable, Lower or First Branch & had been involved in the capture of runaways & pirates from Port Macquarie; re reward recommended by the Magistrates at Windsor. On 20 March 1823 he sent a letter giving notice of his resignation as District Constable. He sent a Memorial on behalf of his children on 12 June 1824. In August Richard was on a list of lands granted by Sir Thomas Brisbane. On 6 January 1825 he was District Constable from Lower Branch to Long Island & was on a list of Constables doing duty at Windsor & the Districts of the Hawkesbury. From August to October 1825 he sent documents re land clearances & occupation of 6 land grantees as part of his duties.###
