Robert Potts

Born: 26th November 1797 at Harrogate, Yorkshire, England.

Arrived : 21st October 1819.
Vessel: Grenada.
Status: Convict, sentenced on the 7th March 1818 at the York Assizes.
Married: Ann Griffiths on the 23rd December 1822 at St Matthews Church, Windsor, N.S.W.
Died: 10th June 1865 at Windsor Street, Richmond, N.S.W.
Buried: c1865 in the Griffith's vault in St Peter's cemetery, Richmond.

After the Macquarie era the following children were born to Robert and Ann:-
James born c1824.
Rachel born c1826.

At the end of the Macquarie era Robert was assigned to Jonathan Griffiths at Richmond. Robert and Ann's was the first marriage conducted in the existing Francis Greenway's designed St Matthews Church at Windsor.

The 1828 census records that Robert had 100 acres of land of which 20 had been cleared, 15 cultivated and that he was running 26 head of cattle.
